Hi, I’m Nancy Schuster, writer and artist. I have the great honor of expressing the joy, peace, and love of the Holy Spirit through my writing and artwork. That is, whenever I write or do artwork, I ask the Holy Spirit to work through me. Now I am guided to share that writing and artwork with you, so here it is! I’ve been a student of A Course in Miracles for 13 years now, and have been much inspired by the Course.

     My artwork, inspired by Spirit, is also represented here; you can see some of it by clicking on "Artwork".  With my paintings it’s pretty straightforward: I ask for inspiration, Holy Spirit gives it to me, and I paint. With my sketches it’s a bit more complex: I sit down with a colored marker and sketchpad, asking the Holy Spirit what he wants me to see or know. Then I sketch, letting Spirit guide my hand. Along with the sketch, I get a verbal message, which is attached to the sketch.

JOY

     I wake up this morning and the Holy Spirit tells me to open up my Heart. I do! And the light streams forth out of it like the sun shining. And I am in joy, in ecstasy. It doesn’t matter what I do today, it will be right, it will be joyful. It doesn’t matter what I eat today. All that matters is that beautiful light, that beautiful heart inspiration. The world looks different today! All falls into place easily. It’s that it always does this, but my mind usually doesn’t see it; my mind usually sees the things that go wrong first, and that blocks out the things that I am given. This is beautiful! And I am in joy. It will be a beautiful day! I feel the life pulsing through me. And the best part is, I didn’t get this inspiration from someone else or something else; it came straight from God to me! And words don’t matter; this happens without words, without ideas of any kind. I got out of my own way! I am in the moment! I am in the moment, with God. And God sends me a kind of energy that makes my body feel itchy, like it wants to fly. And you know what, right now I think I could.

     The dishes are unwashed, my teeth are not brushed, and I don’t care. I’d much rather write to you this morning. I am in Love! And it is beautiful and wonderful. The sun is shining! In my Heart, and outside both. I want to go outside and dance! But I’d much rather write to you, dear brother, my own dear heart, my own dear one. Today the housework will go undone, because I will create! I will write; I will do artwork! I will love, and give love, the love of God, to everyone, in everything I do. I will soar! Soar with me, brothers and sisters! Come on this journey with me. And with the Holy Spirit. And with God. I fly ! We fly together! Upward. And it doesn’t matter what we do, it only matters that our hearts are opened and that we soar!

     We think of very silly things most of the time. We think as “adults,” rather than as “children,” which is the state that I am in now, that we are both in now if you are with me. The Bible says something about being as a little child if you want to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. How true! So right now we must be in the Kingdom of Heaven! Oh, I want this to last forever. At the time my Heart opened, I was thinking something angry and fearful about my relationship with my husband. He can be quite childish at times. But Now I choose to see it as childlike. His Child is very beautiful, very innocent, very playful. And so the two of us shall play.! He can come along with us, dear brother, and soar. We are now above all the ills of the world! Let’s hope it lasts. I love you, dear brothers, and I want to hold you to my bosom. It is a thrill, experiencing life in the moment like this. The Holy Instant, when all are one. We are one! What God has joined together, nothing shall put asunder! I am amazed that I am writing these words, that I am feeling these things! It was all worth it, the whole journey that brought me (us) to this point. All the pain and misery was for nought, but God has the Holy Spirit use that pain and misery and make it an experience of awakening. And so it is! We are awake today, my brothers. We are in paradise together, you and I, just as Jesus promised. The crucifixion was an illusion, the Resurrection reality. I am in Love with you all! And I want you to know, I give you that love forever. No matter what happens, that love is yours to keep. And mine! Today we store up our treasures in the Kingdom of Heaven. Beauty! Joy! Love, without end. Today we are in the Spirit, today we are in God. There is no need for logic, there is no need for anything. All there is, is love, to quote John Lennon or someone who wrote that as song lyrics. All we are, is love. Lyrical, glowing joy and beauty, trailing clouds of glory in it. Nothing else is. This is all that is real. How silly we all have been! But it lasted only an instant before we woke up. And really, such silliness never was. The body, and concern for the body, is nothing. The Heart, and its opening, is everything. Let me remember why I closed my heart…No, I don’t want to remember; that might take this beautiful moment away. I just want to bask in its glory, with you, dear brother. Stay with me, in paradise. Louise Frechette once likened the Kingdom of Heaven to the most wonderful, exciting cocktail party anyone ever attended. Well, this is it! It glows. The energy pulsates. It is alive! And nothing else matters. I hold within me the knowledge of the universe, the Knowledge of God. It is infinitely wise, and infinitely happy. You hold that same knowledge within yourself. It cannot be reached with the body’s brain or with the analytical mind. It can only be reached with the Heart, which is known as the Christ Mind. How infinitely wise! We had it within us all the time. We love you, God, for creating us! We are with you. We share this unity with all life that is! Now, today. Love, and give, and share that joy forever. No one is exempted, not Hitler, not Saddam Hussein. All are Love. There is no Hitler, there is no Saddam Hussein, not as we know them, for there is no war, there is no atrocity, all are Love. That is Reality. How simple! How foolish we were to forget. How can we ever thank God enough. By remembering Reality, by choosing God, once and for all. Thank you Holy Spirit, for bringing us here. When we are Love, everything is right, everything is helpful, all falls into place. All heals. All is one. It isn’t magic, it isn’t an altered state, it is Reality. Reality has shined away the illusion. We have awakened.
